LET'S GO

What do I do if a client is late or consistently cancels?

  1. Communicate your expectations: Let your client know that your time is valuable and that you expect them to respect your schedule. Emphasize the importance of showing up on time and being present for each session.
  2. Understand the reason: Try to understand the reason behind their lateness or cancellations. Is there a particular issue or challenge that's causing them to struggle with their time management? Are they dealing with personal or work-related issues that are impacting their ability to attend sessions? Understanding the root cause can help you find a solution.
  3. Set boundaries: If the behavior continues despite your communication, set clear boundaries. Let your client know that you can't continue working with them if they don't show up on time or cancel frequently.
  4. Offer alternative options: If your client is genuinely struggling with scheduling, offer alternative options such as shorter sessions or scheduling at a different time of day.
  5. Be flexible: If your client has a genuine emergency or unexpected conflict, be flexible and understanding. Work with them to reschedule the session at a mutually convenient time.
Remember, coaching is a partnership, and it's important to work together to overcome any challenges that arise. However, if the behavior continues to negatively impact your ability to work effectively with your client, it may be time to consider terminating the coaching relationship.
