A Seller's Mindset
Mar 18, 2024The secret to selling your offers from a place of service: Reframe yourself as a 'Matcher'.
Let's start with a couple of my sales principles:
1. Sales creates a win-win.
2. Sales is nothing more than a matching game.
3. Sales require two (or more) parties to be in relationship.
This shift in mindset was transformative.
Like a matchmaker, my role became to deeply understand my offerings' value propositions while staying acutely attuned to each prospect's unique situation.
It's not about convincing or closing - it's lighting the path when you recognize a clear fit and then extending an invitation to go down that path together.
To operate this way requires two foundational skills:
1) Intimately knowing your own value - that of you, your offer, and past results.
2) Listen. Like really listen. Bring radical presence to genuinely understand the human before you.
To me, that's true sales mastery - no big pitches, no mental tricks, just matchmaking between needs and solutions.
